Town Hall Meeting for the Waste Water Treatment

To have Divine Darshan of Sri Sri Radha Golokananda, hit F5 to refresh this page.

===================================================================================
May 08, 2008

Hare Krsna, Vikram,

I would like to keep everyone up to date on the progress in trying to get our site plan approved. In order to get approved we need to have all the permits required by the Town of Hillsborough. There have been some changes in how the Town of Hillsborough works through this process. The biggest hold up for us has been the Waste Water Recycle System. The system has to be completely designed first and once the design is complete we then can apply for the permit.

The designed process has taken much longer than we anticipated. Now the design work is finally coming to an end and is being reviewed by the engineers. Once the review of the plans is done we can apply for a permit from the state. The process for getting the permit can take as little as one to two months with an express review process that would also be costly or the regular review process that could take four to six months to compete.

We understand the importance of this project and the uniqueness of trying to build an environmentally friendly building. This as we are finding out is adding to the time it takes to get things designed and approved. We continue to look for your support and with Krishna mercy we will see this process through.

Feb 18, 2008

Today was Lord Nityanand appearance day and I had an opportunity to meet Jadurani and her husband in the temple. I asked them about the outcome of the Feb 13th meeting. She told me that the City has asked for a Waste Water Treatment permit and they did not accept the letter of explanation obtained from State.

The issue is due to bad percolation tests of the soil from the temple site. This affects the amount of runoff that will come into retention pond and thus affecting the design of the temple. City wants a waste water treatment permit before-hand to approve anything.

Jadurani is working to get necessary paper works to get this thing done. Since City has given the next date after 3 months, there is nothing that can expedite this process.

===================================================================================
On Wednesday Feb 13th at 7:00PM, there will be a town hall meeting at Hillsborough to go over the plan for the water system for the new temple site. We had been asked to show our plan for the proposed water treatment system. Jadurani has a letter of explanation for the board that has been recently presented. It is important that all of the members of the community come to this meeting to show our commitment and support for Radha-Golokananda's new temple.

Fund raising Event on March 24, 2007 in Greensboro

The next fund raising event for the Krishna Temple of North Carolina is planned for Saturday, March 24th 2007 at Holiday Inn Express, Exit 41 on I-40/BUS 85 from 10:30AM to 2:00PM.

Invitations has been sent out to the people.

Drawings for the temple as of 2007-02-06

Dayavir Prabhu sent me the latest proposed outline drawing for the temple.

Open this NCtemple02062007.pdf document to see the drawing clearly.

Results of Jan 21 Fund Raising

The fund raising event on Jan 21st was a low turn out event mainly due to the very bad weather in the morning with some snow flurry. This kept people tied to the comfort of their home and only 30 people showed up at the door against a planned gathering for 100-150 people.

But, the Supreme Personality of Godhead Krishna has plans for this temple. "This fund raising event was a total success" was the remark from His Holiness Bir Krishna Das Goswami and I was wondering how this was successful with a very low turn out of the people. He explained that ONLY people who were sincere in their devotion to Lord Krishna showed up in spite of the bad weather so we had a very good quality of the people instead of the quantity. Hmmm, I was thinking in my mind that we did not even reach close to our goal of fund-raising. Reading my mind's anxiety, he told me that one special person from this audience pledged donation of the complete marble for the temple which will be worth more than $150,000. This itself is just a huge success for this fund-raising event.

Fund raising Event on Jan 21, 2007

The fund raising event for New Krishna Temple of North Carolina will be held at Cary Senior Center at Bond Park, 801 High House Road, Cary, NC on January 21st, 2007 from 10:30am to 02:00pm. The invitations have been sent to 380 people to attend this event.
