The fourth meeting regarding construction of new Krishna temple was held on July 08, 2006 at the residence of Hrishikesh das at Cary, NC.
The following devotees/people attended the meeting.
- Daya-vir das (Chair - Meeting)
- Hrishikesh das
- Mahatam Singh
- Vikram Khatri
Daya-vir das opened the meeting and gave an overview of the meeting that he held with Jadu Rani at the temple in the morning regarding site plan.
The following comments / points were made during the meeting.
- It was agreed that it is mandatory to make a broacher before approaching people in the community to raise the funds. Mahatam Singh stressed the need of solid collateral before approaching anyone. The followings were decided for the broacher.
- Daya-vir will engage a good writer from the temple to prepare a 10 page word document outlining vision of a self-sustainable temple.
- It will be made available for the review of the members of the fund-raising committee by the July 14th, 2006.
- Based upon this document, the contents of the broacher will be decided.
- The brochure will be a 2-3 page document and it will be done through a professional agency.
- Printing of the broacher is on critical path and it has to be done on a priority basis.
- The fund-raising committee will be of dynamic nature with few permanent members. It was also decided to invite more people to the next meeting which was scheduled for Friday July 14th, 2006 at 7:00PM at Hrishikesh das house.
- It was also decided to find out the details of the constitution of the Krshna Temple of NC, if exists. If not, a new constitution will need to be made. The constitution for the temple is required to provide a legal mandate to the various committees that will be overseeing the planning, fund-raising, construction and maintenance of the temple.
- The site plan should include a paved walking trail.
- The temple floor cannot be made of concrete due to enormous heating expenses in winter. It should be a floating wooden floors same as found in professional dance center or in a basketball court. The concrete floor will hurt the feet of the devotees who dance in ecstasy in the temple.
